“Have you tried smashing a few cones first?” doesn’t usually sound like the kind of love advice a responsible person would give to their mate.

But, when it comes to figuring out how to make your nudies sing, firing up the old bud bomb might be just the thing!

A study recently published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine (yes, I would like to subscribe to your sexy scientist newsletter!) has found that people who get stoned on the reg (at least once a week) have sex more often.

And, a new analysis of Czech and Italian studies conducted in the 70’s and 80’s has confirmed a correlation between sparking a joint and the quality of the ensuing nookie.

Participants in these studies found that smoking joints a few times a week (at least 50 in the previous six months) increased their sex drives and made doing the deed more pleasurable.

In one 1983 study, 81% of participants (both men and women) had better sex when they were stoned!

In fact, 80% of men and 71% of women who participated in that particular study admitted to intentionally getting stoned before having sex! Why, I never!

So strong is the link between weed and bumping booties that scientists even suggest it could potentially be used as a cure for sexual dysfunction further down the track.

But there’s still a lot of research to be done!

“A positive association between marijuana use and sexual frequency is seen in men and women across all demographic groups. Although reassuring, the effects of marijuana use on sexual function warrant further study,” the report in the Journal of Sexual Medicine concluded.

Anyone keen on a little “further study”?!  For science, of course.

PS: You know that bit about worse breath, right up there in the title of this article? Yeah, that is derived purely from anecdotal research conducted by the author of this article.
